PANEER TIKKA MASALA
Popular Indian dish made with marinated paneer ( Indian Cheese) cooked in a rich Indian spicescreamy tomato gravy.
INGREDIENTS OF PANEER TIKKA MASALA
FOR THE MARINADE :
- 250 GM PANEER CUBES.
- 1/2 CUP YOGURT
- 1 TABLESPOON LEMON JUICE
- 1 TAESPOON CORIANDER POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON CUMIN POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON GARAM MASALA POWDER
- SALT TO TASTE
FOR THE GRAVY :
- 2 TABLESPOON BUTTER OR OIL
- 1 FINELY ONION CHOPPED
- 2 CLOVESGARLIC, MINCED
- 2 DICED TOMATO
- 1 CUP HEAVY CREAM
- 1 TEASPOON CUMIN POWDER
- 1 TEASPOON CORIANDER POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON GARAM MASALA POWDER
- SALT TO TASTE
- FRESH CILANTRO FOR GARNISH
INSTRUCIONS PANEER TIKKA MASALA
- MARINATION OF PANEER – MIX YOGURT, LEMON JUICE, CUMIN POWDER,CORIANDER POWDER, GARAM MASALA POWDER AND SALT IN BOWL ACCORDING TO INGREDIENTS MEASUREMENT. ADD THE PANEER CUBES AND MARINATE IT AT LEAST FOR 30 MINUTES.
- GRILL OR COOK THE PANEER – GRILL OR COOK THE MARINATED PANEER IN THE PAN WITH THE VEGETABLE OIL TILL IT BECOMES BROWN AND SET ASIDE.
- START MAKING GRAVY – HEAT THE BUTTER IN THE PAN OR OIL AND SAUTE THE CHOPPED ONION UNTIL IT GETS BROWN. ADD THE MINCED GARLIC AND COOK FOR ANOTHER MINUTES.
ADD THE DICED TOMATO – ADD THE DICED TOMOTO AND COOK FOR 7-10 MINUTES TILL IT GETS COOKED PROPERLY.
- ADD THE SPICES AND CREAM– ADD THE CUMIN POWDER, CORIANDER AND GARAM MASALA POWDER AND SALT AND STILL WELL TO COMBINE. POUR THE CREAM AND COOK FOR 3-5 MINUTES.
- ADD THE FRIED PANEER– ADD THE PANEER IN THE GRAVY IN LOW FRAME SO THAT THE GRAVY IS WELL MIXED WITH THE PANEER.
- GARNISH AND SERVE- GARNISH WITH CILANTRO AND SERVE WITH THE HOT NAAN OR RICE.
